SILLA Coffee
A coffee shop in a business centre lobby: stone, warm metal and agave lamps
"The final chord of this piece was the black agave-fibre lamps. When I realised they reminded me of muscles — more precisely, of where a muscle attaches to the bone — the whole picture came together, and I thought: "this is it".

The coffee shop lives in the lobby of the SILLA business centre. It's a place where you can grab a coffee on the go, or linger, look around and see what the space is trying to say: notice the shapes and textures, soak up the atmosphere and catch a creative mood.

Through the interior I wanted to convey kindness, eternity, nobility, respect and strength — both physical and spiritual. That's why there is so much warm metal, rough natural stone and charred wood.

The coffee shop is an intimate part of the larger SILLA Hotel & Business project that we prepared for the city competition for the best concept.

stone, metal and agave
bar counter: the strength and nobility of materials
The star of the coffee shop is the bar counter set against a wall of natural stone with a rough, almost rock-like texture. Stone here is about eternity and support.

Next to it are warm metal and charred wood: noble materials that only get more beautiful with time.

The final chord is the black agave-fibre lamps. Their shape reminded me of the place where a muscle attaches to the bone — and at that moment the picture came together: physical and spiritual strength in a single object.
